With a camera in hand since childhood, Jonas Bang’s lifelong focus on the aesthetic got off to the earliest of starts. Today, the young Danish director has carried his fascination with image into a flourishing career in commercials, campaigns and music videos, often with a raw and poetic touch.
Jonas's style is playful and marked out by his incredible eye for details, with respect to everything from cinematic style to the use of editing and sound. His 2021 film for Danish fashion label Gestuz, 'The Journey', was nominated for a number of that year's art direction and production design awards, including wins at both the Creative Circle and True Awards.
Jonas’s recent work has included clients like IKEA, Mercedes-Benz, Lindex and the Finnish national railway company VR, as well as a string of videos for artists like universal pop icon MØ and underground legends Iceage, the ladder featuring actor Zlatko Buric.
His first short film, ‘Dream Diver’, about a young band all with Down's Syndrome, debuted at this year's Copenhagen Dox film festival and screened at festivals in South Korea, Greece, Germany, Italy and Belgium, as well as being nominated at the UKMVAs for ‘Best Special Visual Project’.
