Laerke Herthoni moved into directing in 2014, and has since gone on to be widely acknowledged as one of Scandinavia’s top commercial directors. Just one year into her career, Laerke was awarded Sweden’s most prestigious creative acknowledgement of emerging talent, the Kycklingstipendiet. More recently, she was nominated for Europe’s Best Director at the Young Directors Award, as well as named Sweden’s Best Director by the Roy Awards for the second time.
Laerke has directed hugely popular commercials for brands such as IF, Arla, Volvo, GMC and Trygghansa, receiving awards at The One Show, Eurobest, and Cannes Lions.
Her recent work includes a short film series in collaboration with Volvo showing intimate snippets from people of various walks of life. The films match a human warmth and intimacy with the natural beauty of Stockholm, creating scenes as resplendent as they are memorable. Other recent work has been for clients including Renault, Vattenfall and Tele2.
